How To Use Bar Directory

The Directory is only available to SD members. You will need a login ID and a password set through the Forum Login page. The URL is http://www.sdbar.org/forum/login_user.asp as shown in Login #1

If you do not remember your ID and password (or did not receive an email with it) use the "Forgotten Your Password" link indicated above. Enter your Firstname and Lastname (with a space between them), enter your current email address, then click the "Request New Password."

If you get a message that the user name or email address did not match, (see below) your name or email is not in the login database.Forgot Password 2

You should send an email to Administrator@sdbar.org including your State Bar number to get the ID and password.

DO NOT SHARE THE INFORMATION WITH ANYONE. IF YOU WANT YOUR STAFF MEMBERS TO HAVE ACCESS, INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE EMAILED TO YOU UPON REQUEST.

Once you receive for ID and password by email, directions for accessing the are as follows:

The first step is to click on the Members button on any of our webpages. (See Example 1)

Select "Members Only - Password required" or "Directory - Password Required" from the drop down menu. (See Example #2)

You click "Members Only" you will then be taken to the Members Only page. From here, the links are to password protected pages. For accessing the directory click on the Directory link. (See example #3)

If you clicked "Directory - Password Required" from the drop down menu or the "Directory" link on the Members Only page, you will then be presented with the "Accessed Denied" screen. (See Example #4) Click on either of the "Login" buttons.

You will be taken to the login screen. (See Example #5) Enter your Login ID and Password and the Captcha security code (which changes each time you login). Then click on the "Forum Login".

You will then be taken to the directory screen. By default, the search will be on the members "Last Name". (See item 1 on Example #6) Type the last name of the member in the Name Box (See item 2 on Example #6) and then click the Search button.

The wildcards are "%" to represent any number of characters, and "?" to represent a single letter. Thus a search for "z%" will recover all last names beginning with a "z". A search for "ols?n" will retreive last names such as "Olson" and "Olsen."

By using the Check boxes, the City, County and/or Circuit options you can restrict or expand the search. For example, unchecking the Last Name and Firm check boxes, and using the City option, you can retrieve all attorneys in a particular city. (See Example #7)

If you pass the cursor over the members name, more complete information will appear. (See Example #8)

Clicking on the members name will open a new page (see Example #9) from which you can copy and paste the same information.
